Tightening Torque Calculator For Nut/Bolt
Torque-related Facts
- First of all, never calculate the nut torque; always calculate the bolt torque. It's a thumb rule. It means that if you want the tightening torque of the nut, then calculate the bolt torque, not the nut torque.
- Torque calculation formula = K X dX P (where as K= COF & d = Nominal Dia & P is the Clamp Force. whereas the clamp force is 80% of proof load.
- Always take 1+ grade part compared to which part you need to check the torque. Like you need to check 8 grade nut torqe then you should pick 10 grade bolt . If you want to check 8.8 grade bolt torque then you should take 10 grade nut for torqe test.
This calculator is totally formula-based, which is 99% accurate, but you can take a tolerance of up to 2 N-m.
